Jasmine Ming Huei and her groom knew that planning a wedding can be really expensive. They even paid a huge deposit for the venue. So, the wise young bride thought it would be a good idea to cut on costs by planning her own wedding and finding bargain deals on Taobao, a China-based online shopping site.

The financially savvy bride searched the site for bargain deals, enabling her to buy a wedding dress for as low as $48 while her groom’s tuxedo set was actually a bit more expensive at $70 – yet both are already such a huge bargain!

As for the wedding venue, Jasmine bought several meters of pastel-blue carpet for $27, had an arch created with plastic flowers she also bought for a cheap price from Taobao, and used pastel-colored balloons to create the picture-perfect fairytale setting without breaking the bank.

Then, her husband got a friend to take their photos – and got another huge discount for that. Overall, the wedding was a huge success, but what really made it more impressive is that they didn’t pay a fortune to pull off such an elegant affair! Congratulations!
