Wheelchair-bound Groom ‘Stands’ to Dance with His Bride

Love is truly powerful—it enables a person to do things that he never thought he can. It makes all things possible.

Five years ago, Hugo Rohling from Brazil figured in a motorcycle accident which bound him to a wheelchair. In January of this year, he married his girlfriend Cinthia Zanuni II.

Prior to the wedding, Hugo and Cinthia hired a choreographer to help them prepare for their first dance as a married couple. It was a beautiful dance number.

But, something else made their first dance even more special. When the time came for their first dance, the couple started swaying to the tune of Sam Smith’s ‘Make It to Me’. As their dance number slowly ends, Cynthia sat on Hugo’s lap, held him close, and kissed him. The wedding guests were all ecstatic.

When everybody thought that the dance number is finished, two men brought chairs, put it beside Hugo, and sat on it. They are the groom’s brother and father. Someone tied Hugo’s right leg to his brother’s and the left leg to his father’s. While they were being tied together, the two men put their arms behind Hugo’s back.

Slowly, the three men stood up—with Hugo’s brother and father acting as his legs and supporting him. Cinthia went up to him, held her husband closer and, once again, danced together—but this time, with Hugo’s brother and father.

Meus votos… Me apresentou você, mulher linda, inteligente, integra, super companheira. Você me faz sentir amado, respeitado, incluído.
