Man ‘Proposes’ to GF for an Entire Month, But She Had No Idea at All

These days, guys feel the added pressure of making their proposal unique and fantastic amid the many impressive ones we often see on social media. So, how can one create a unique proposal? Well, one guy thought of an idea that wouldn’t really cost him a lot of money – and it actually worked!

When 30-year-old Edi Okoro from Herefordshire, England, decided that it was time for him and his girlfriend Cally Read to tie the knot, he got her a beautiful diamond ring. But though he was excited to pop the big question, pretty much assuming that she would say “yes”, this guy did not seem to be in a hurry to actually pop the question.

Instead, he spent the next month ‘proposing’ to Cally – without her even knowing it!

Carrying the ring around was something a bit risky as she might really catch him hiding the thing, but Edi admitted that he just wanted to propose in a different manner. And if he gets caught, then he’d do the real thing and ask the question.

But throughout the next month, he would take photos of the ring with Cally nearby.

There were photos of Edi holding out the ring while Cally was sleeping or busy with her phone or paying at the counter in some store at the mall.

Those who have gone through this (and those who will soon find out), you want to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person and couple. Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign. I couldn’t do this because “Edi doesn’t plan”… I’m a spontaneous improviser,” Edi explained.

The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!

Of course, it wouldn’t be as fun if he was caught. Edi eventually proposed – and, no, he did not get caught but he has yet to share the story of how he actually proposed after all those near-proposals. Cally said, “yes”!

What’s a Flash Mob?

A flash mob is a large gathering at a crowd for a seemingly spontaneous performance, with people joining ‘at random’ before later typically dispersing again like nothing major had happened.
