Bride-to-be Claims Best Friend ‘Stole’ Her Dream Wedding Dress after She Showed Photos

Many brides have a difficult time finding the best wedding dress, mostly because there really are so many options out there and every dress looks like it’s either the best or the worst one there is! So, when they finally find that dream wedding dress, brides would certainly want to get their hands on it and wear it to the wedding!

One bride who finally found her dream wedding dress after months of trying is now so angry with her best friend who ‘stole’ the dress after she showed her the photos.

The bride took to Reddit to share her sentiment, asking for advice on whether she should still buy the dress:

I have a good girlfriend who’s getting married a few months before me and we were talking about our weddings together and I showed her a picture of my dream wedding dress that I was going to buy.

Lo and behold, a couple weeks later she texts me a picture of her wearing the dress at a store, saying that she knows it’s my dream dress, but she loved it when she saw it and put it on and knew it was her dress.

And she said she figured it’d be okay since I hadn’t even tried it on yet, but she KNEW I was planning on trying it on, KNEW it was my dream dress, and KNEW I was going to buy it.

She’s now asking me to find a different dress so she can wear it. I don’t know what to do, I’m so upset. I know it seems petty and it’s just a dress but I feel like she really crossed a line and is being completely unfair.

What should I do? I’ve tried on tons of dresses and none compare to the one I found online and wanted to buy. Should I get it anyway?

A lot of netizens agree with the bride that her friend is wrong in choosing her dream wedding dress after she had shown her the photos! But many suggested that she continue buying the same dress and using it for the wedding – after all, she found the dress first.

If it were me, I would still get the dress as it’s a dress that is absolutely loved. Though your friend will wear the same dress, so what? Obviously you guys both have the same great taste and will each look splendid in it either way,” one netizen wrote.

Of course, it might look like she was the one who copied the design, but if she really loves the dress, then she should go ahead and buy it. Others added that she should get the dress but ditch her friend.

Try it on, but also try on others. If you are still in love with YOUR dress, and it truly is the one for you — buy it!” another suggested.

Unique Wedding Dresses

A lot of brides want to make sure their dress is not the same as any other bride’s. This is the reason why many choose to have one sewn or personally made for the occasion.

There are also online shops and even physical bridal shops that offer unique wedding dresses; though you shouldn’t really expect that each dress is totally unique because someone might like your dress and have it copied by a dressmaker.
