He might just be 3 feet tall and suffering from many congenital issues, but Roque Tapales did not let those challenges stop him from being a fun-loving, cheerful person who had a positive outlook in life. He works as elevator operator at a mall in Zamboanga City.

Well known for being a cheerful guy at the mall, Roque met Mary Joy Arroyo in one of those elevator rides – and the two fell in love.
While it is a challenge for both to be together, especially because of the huge height difference between them and the fact that many people stare when they go out, this did not stop the couple from falling in love and eventually tying the knot!

The two got married in August through a civil ceremony solemnized by Mayor Beng Climaco. The mayor was touched by their love story that she even shared their photos on her Facebook page.

“When love conquers all, nothing stands in the way, not a cloud not a storm, not a negative thing,” the mayor wrote in the caption.
