Newlyweds from Pangasinan received an all-expenses paid honeymoon gift from their friends – and it came as a total surprise and became the “biggest” gift at their wedding.
Kathleen Dawn Barcelona and Melvin Barcelona got married last December 8, 2019. It started out as planned, with the couple exchanging their vows in front of family and friends. But their wedding photos would soon bring them internet fame!
In the photos, the newlyweds could be seen posing with their friends who got them an extra special wedding gift in the form of an all-expenses paid honeymoon trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Bride Kathleen happily shared the photos, revealing that though traveling is something that’s a common ground between her and her friends, she did not expect that they would actually gift them with a trip for the wedding.
Kathleen’s friends Jessica and Daniel provided the roundtrip ticket for the couple to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Then, her friends Czar and Kenneth who work abroad paid for the hotel accommodation of the newlyweds.
According to the post shared on the Philippine STAR, Kathleen’s friends apparently had a difficult time thinking about how they could present their gift to the couple and reveal the big surprise.
“Hindi rin nila alam kung paano nila ibibigay [‘yung] ticket nang may twist, so they decided na i-print nang sobrang laki ‘yung itinerary para sa presentation and ibigay sa mismong wedding,” Kathleen shared.
It was funny but also quite cute! The sweet gesture warmed many people’s hearts; though Kathleen and her groom first thought it was just a prank.
“Noong una akala ko prank lang. Makikita niyo po sa photo chini-check ko po kung legit. Pero super happy ako sa gift nila sa amin since mahilig kaming magtravel,” she added.
