Gardo Versoza and long-time girlfriend Ivy Vicencio recently got married in a solemn and intimate outdoor ceremony held at El Kabayo Stables in Pampanga.
Theirs is not the usual wedding. The couple, coming from an earlier sports event, tied the knot wearing casual wear—Gardo in a sleeveless Sando and Ivy in black blouse and ripped jeans with a flower crown on her head and holding a bunch of flowers.
A priest officiated the wedding in a makeshift altar on a simple table.
Fellow bikers from the biking group, Cupcake Bikers 143, witnessed the most memorable in the lives of Gardo and Ivy.
The couple has been together for 13 years and already had a child before Gardo proposed marriage to Ivy last February of this year.
Years ago, Gardo said that he has no plans of getting married. He, instead, prefer having a partner for life. But things changed, and the couple found themselves in front of the altar, promising to love, cherish, and hold one another.
Photos and videos of the said event were posted on social media. In his Instagram post, Gardo said, “Ang pinagsama at binasbasan ay hindi pwedeng paghiwalayin ng ganun ganun na lamang.” Gardo’s caption is about a verse from the Bible, which says, “What God has joined together, let no one separate.”
The netizens are divided
The netizens, however, shared their thoughts about the wedding. Some are not happy that the couple did not even prepare for the wedding, saying that Gardo should have worn at least a shirt, instead of just a sando.
On the other hand, there are also those who supported the couple on their choices. They think that what is essential is their sincerity in their vows and the way Gardo and Ivy feel for each other.
Meanwhile, one wedding guests said that the couple is planning to have a grander wedding soon.
