Bride-To-Be Slammed for Imposing ‘Ugly’ Dress Code on Guests Based on Their Weight

It is understandable that couples have a theme they want their guests to follow, but one bride-to-be was slammed for imposing an ‘ugly’ dress code to her guests – and it was based on their weight! Tsk. Tsk.

The wedding was set in Hawaii. It is unknown whether the couple would be paying for everyone’s plane tickets and hotels for the vacation, but the bride wants the guests to spend at least $1,000 on their outfits for the dance. This was something that she specified in a letter that would later go viral on Reddit after one guest leaked it online.

In a detailed letter, the bride reminded her guests that the wedding is a year and a half away, giving them time to prepare their outfits for the wedding and save up enough money to buy their clothes.

But what really angered many netizens is that the bride specifically told her guests to dress up according to their weight. She claims that it was for ‘visual purposes’ during the dance. According to the bride, the dress code would create an ‘incredible visual effect’.

The dress code, however, was met with much criticism not only because of the weight categories but also because netizens thought her choices were ‘hideous’. Requiring everyone to spend $1,000 for these ‘ugly’ outfits is just unfair, one netizen pointed out.

Several people also pointed out that the Louboutin heels she requires the ladies (100-160 lbs) to wear would just be stupid for a beach wedding. Moreover, many argued that the sweaters or jackets she wanted everyone to wear, in different colors according to weight, would definitely be too hot for a tropical setting.

Many netizens are having a good laugh at the bride-to-be’s crazy dress code combinations, however. Meanwhile, the kids were asked to wear red from head to toe, with emphasis on ‘true red’ and not other shades of red or dark orange.

On top of this dress code, the guests were told that they were required to bring formal clothes which will be worn after the dance.

When the post went viral, it reached the bride who got rather angry that someone snitched on her plans. She wanted to find the culprit; thus, she bought a $99 polygraph test from Amazon and sent another round of messages to the guests for a ‘Polygraph Party’. Anyone who doesn’t attend the party will be ‘presumed guilty’. Oooops.

What’s a Polygraph Test?

A polygraph test is another term for lie detector test. The device measures several things, including skin conductivity, pulse rate, respiration, and blood pressure to determine whether someone is lying or telling the truth.

There is no guarantee, however, that the polygraph test actually works. Most people in the scientific community label polygraph procedures as ‘pseudoscience’.
