Joey Nunez and Gina Canete got married in a church at San Isidro in Toboso, Negros Occidental last October 26. But rains the previous night led to floods affecting the area, including the road where the bridal car was supposed to pass.

Left with no choice unless they cancel the wedding, the couple decided to continue with their plans and get married on that day. They were unsure whether they would even have guests that day due to the floods, but the couple didn’t mind. The most important thing is that they will be tying the knot at the church.

Earlier that day, the couple crossed the flooded area wearing shorts. They wouldn’t risk having their wedding clothes wet and dirty as they go to church. They dressed up at the church before the wedding.

But after the ceremony, they decided that they would walk towards the reception in their wedding attire!

Wading through knee-deep flood waters, the couple went viral because they still had lots of smiles on their faces despite the situation they were in. The flood got their clothes wet, but this couple didn’t mind – and this sweet, happy disposition made a lot of netizens smile.

Ang kanilang Pag ibig ay parang baha at ulan din hindi rin mapipigilan. Ito talaga ang tunay na nagmamahalan. Congratulations both of you, tita,” bridesmaid Joy Ann Fernandez Baquilar shared.

Many wish the couple well, saying that they are surely blessed to have each other. After all, they had a difficult time on their wedding day, yet they both still managed to smile and be happy. Isn’t that wonderful?

Should the Bridal Car Be White?

While white is the traditional color for bridal cars, a lot of modern brides have opted for other colors. Many even use non-traditional vehicles to go to their wedding – such as a carabao carriage!
